Announcing the 2018 Applejam Set Times and Artists!
One of the Twin Cities most enduring bands, the Honeydogs come together for special live opportunities like AppleJam.
Brothers Noah and Adam Levy were already veterans of the Minneapolis rock scene when they formed The Honeydogs in 1994. There have been several incarnations of the band over time and many side and solo projects. "People come and go — based on their lives or creative needs or whatever — but we've always managed to attract really great musicians. We love to play together," Adam told The Current.
In 2012 Adam Levy lost his son Daniel, 21, to suicide. The band released the aptly titled What Comes After, recorded before Daniel’s death, in 2012. With shades of Nick Drake and swampy soul, the band tapped into their horn section and a string quartet for this moody batch of songs. In 2015 the band released the upbeat, guitar-driven Love and Cannibalism. The band released two singles in 2017 Your Own Shadow and Gaslight Face
This is their only fall gig and it's not to be missed!
Dan’s a whiskey & beer drinking, fishing & hunting loving, motorcycle riding, quality food eating, hippie sympathizing, people loving, husband and father who lives in Minneapolis. When he’s not in the studio or on the road, he tends his family’s backyard chickens, eats fresh veggies from their garden, or does outdoor hobbies. He’s played with The Civil Wars, Andy Grammer, Eric Hutchinson, NeedtoBreathe, Augustana, Tyrone Wells, Haley Reinhart, John McLaughlin, Will Hoge, Drew Holcomb and Sister Hazel.
